"Dr. Jeni from Fond Farewell was the most compassionate and caring veterinarian we could have picked for this day. From the moment she arrived to the moment she left our driveway with Boden’s body, she went above and beyond in her care for our pup and our entire family. End of life care for humans and their loved ones should be this good.
We watched my dad and my brother take their last breaths, one in the ICU and the other in my mom’s home, just two years apart. Watching Boden take his last breath brought the memory and emotions and setting of those two days to the forefront for me. No one coached us through the goodbyes, what to expect, what we would see, how we might feel, and how we could cope in the moments leading up to their final breaths. We did the best we could in the moment.
All that to say, this experience with Dr. Jeni inspired me to be better prepared should we ever need to say goodbye to a loved one on their deathbed and to make sure we have that person in the room that Dr. Jeni was to us. There’s so much more I could say, but mostly I just want to say thank you to Dr. Jeni at Fond Farewell."
- Monica S"Our experience was both sad and beautiful at the same time. We are so grateful that Max was at home with us and under your compassionate care. It was clear to me that you were chosen to do the work by a force that is greater than all of us. A calling few can answer."
- Rick R."I’m so very grateful for your understanding, support, and loving care.
Preparing to call you and then following through with letting Stripes go was agonizing. I appreciate you listening to all of my concerns and sharing your experiences with your own fur babies. I felt reassured that I was not premature in saying goodbye this weekend - even as I wished I didn’t have to.
I took a great deal away from our time together, and feel that you’ve given me thoughts and perspective on how I approach patients in crisis and their family members during emergencies. Your kindness and grace touched me, and I hope to carry it forward in my work as well."
- Erin B."Words can't express our appreciation for your kindness through a tough time and helping us accept that we made the right decision for Loki…
There's a TV adaptation of my favorite novel called Station Eleven. In the show, they describe a doctor's job as having the courage to bear witness to death, the courage to be there. I believe that's not quite correct. It is not just having courage, but also helping others find their own courage to be there.
Thank you for helping us find our courage to be there for Loki."
- James S."Your in-home visit was incredible, far beyond anything I had imagined. Your calm manner and explanations of what was to happen were very reassuring and we felt as if you had all the time in the world to spend with us.
One of the worst parts of an in clinic euthanasia is the drive there. Your visit eliminated that and Alice was able to stay in her own bed, in her own house. The last picture of her in my mind is curled up in her bed, with the flowers and the gray blanket tucked around her looking so peaceful."
- Jan R."It is impossible for me to put into words how deeply grateful my family and I are that we were able to give our beloved Daisy such a peaceful and beautiful end to her life, in her own backyard. She gave us so much over the 14 years she shared with us, and she richly deserved this final gift. I cannot thank you enough for making this happen, and for making Daisy’s passing such a love-filled occasion. We will not forget it. I know it is what Daisy wanted, and that is immensely gratifying to us."
- Susan S."Thank you, Dr. Jeni, for your kind words and comfort as well as your gentle support and assistance yesterday. The gift you gave us in helping her die in comfort, love, and without fear is immeasurable.
We’re very sad to have lost our sweet Maggie, but thanks to you, that sadness is fully grounded in loving memory of a life well lived, unmarred by final trauma or regret. Thank you for making that possible for us and for giving Maggie such a peaceful passing from her pain and discomfort."
– Jennifer H."I just wanted to let you know how appreciative I am of what you did for Barry, and myself. It was obviously such a difficult time, and still is for me, but what you did for us on that Sunday made it better for both Barry and me. I was scared to have a stranger come into the situation, but I am so thankful that you did. I believe that you gave Barry the best possible last moments, and allowing me to be there right with him and holding him the whole time, I cannot thank you enough. You helped both Barry, and me also by making that time the best it could be, and I believe my grieving and healing process is less fraught with pain and sadness and uncertainty about Barry's last moments because of you. What you do and how you do it is so important. Thank you again, from my heart, for taking care of both Barry and me that Sunday morning. I will always remember that time, and I feel that Barry received the best compassionate care and treatment from you, and I hope Barry could feel how much I loved him and also. I will always be thankful for you for what you did for Barry, I can't say it enough."
– Sandy K"I must say, as difficult as it was to say goodbye, your kindness and compassion really helped me through. I am grateful that I didn't have to take her out of her home and cause her any stress. It is comforting to me that she was peaceful and relaxed and in her own home at the end of her life. Thank you so much for helping us through this process. It was probably the hardest thing I have ever done, saying goodbye to her. What really helped me through was your support and warmth and acceptance. I can't thank you enough."
– Liz M"Thank you for helping us with Chino. We feel very fortunate that we were able to do this at home, and with someone as kind and compassionate as you are. Losing a pet is always hard, especially one that's been part of my life for 20 years. But I'm happy to know that she was not scared or in pain (and in fact was eating her favorite treats while getting sleepy).
Thank you again. What you do makes a huge difference, and we really appreciated it."
- Goldie K"The entire experience from the first inquiry to the after care for our sweet senior golden, Lucy, was incredibly smooth and peaceful thanks to them. Dr. Jeni is amazing and an angel! Honestly, for a very private and difficult time for our family, Dr. Jeni was comforting and made herself a part of ours for that brief moment. Everything was beyond our expectations."
- Diane R
"I have known Dr. Jeni for quite a while now, all I can say is that she is the "BEST", and as her colleague and her friend I have nothing but good things to say about her. Even though her job is not the easiest one, her compassion and a very sympathetic approach makes it much less painful for poor pets and pet parents. I adore her and highly recommend "Fond Farewell" for at home euthanasia. It's a tough job that's requires that special angel touch and she has that. I will continue to support her and highly recommend her for your at home euthanasia needs. Thanks, Dr Jeni for all that you do for us and our furry friends. We appreciate it from bottom of our hearts."
- Dr. Raj S."Our experience was both sad and beautiful at the same time. We are so grateful that Max was at home with us and under your compassionate care. It was clear to me that you were chosen to do the work by a force that is greater than all of us. A calling few can answer."
